Mount Laojun in Zangwangzhai, Zhonghua Town, Jiangyou, is a brand-new tourist attraction recently developed with substantial investment from Mianyang Wanxiang Group. With its spectacular and serene landscapes, it is a heavenly retreat for leisure and travel. The site is easily accessible – just over an hour’s drive along the Mianjiang Highway to Zhonghua Town (shuttle buses are available from Zhonghua Town to the scenic area).

Zhonghua Town: A historic and cultural town in Jiangyou, named after the Zhonghua Weir within its territory. Established as a market town in the eighth year of the Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1730), it was originally under the jurisdiction of Zitong County. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, it became a township; in 1935, during the Republic of China era, it was designated as the Zhonghua Joint Defense Zone, and in 1940, the joint defense zone was restructured into a township comprising 21 protected areas. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it was divided in 1952 into four townships: Zhonghua, Tongxing, Wuxing, and Shuangbai, with Zhonghua Township including five villages: Minzhu, Qianjin, Shengli, Huasheng, and Xin Yi. In 1953, it was placed under the jurisdiction of Jiangyou, assigned to the Ninth District.
