Manzi Well

Manzi Well is a cultural relic protection site of Jiangyou City.

Manzi Well is located in Xiping Township. Built during the Ming Dynasty, it covers an area of 2 square meters. The well opening is rectangular, measuring 1.4 meters in length and 0.77 meters in width; the well walls are constructed from blue sandstone slabs. At the seventh row of slabs down from the opening (2.24 meters high), a rectangular stone slab is embedded, featuring a circular water outlet hole in the center, with the water situated below the hole. The well opening is 5.3 meters above the water surface. This well features a relatively rare structure and form locally, divided into two levels, and is well-preserved, still in use for water supply. It provides important physical evidence for the study of local well architecture from the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
