China Sauce Culture Expo Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

China Sauce Culture Expo Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, located in the urban area of Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province, covering an area of 0.286 square kilometers, with a development scope of 0.014 square kilometers. The scenic area features both traditional craft landscape resources and modern production line sightseeing resources, as well as traditional folk culture resources, offering a notably advantageous combination of resources. It is the only industrial tourism site in Sichuan Province themed around sauce culture. Numerous attractions within the park complement modern production workshops, production line sightseeing, and product experience zones, forming a sauce culture-themed scenic area centered on an industrial production base. Through a comprehensive sensory experience encompassing sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste, it showcases the essence of Chinese culinary culture represented by sauce culture.

The expo park museum introduces the gradual evolution of ancient sauce-making techniques, folk ballads and legends about making vinegar and sauce in ancient times, as well as the evolution of the term "sauce," fully demonstrating the long history, profound depth, and radiant richness of China's sauce culture.

The Qingxiangyuan Traditional Workshop has been restored to recreate the appearance of the Qingxiangyuan Sauce Garden from nearly 200 years ago, establishing a unique image of the traditional craftsmanship of "Qingxiangyuan."

The Natural Fermentation Area represents the crucial sun-and-mist fermentation process in sauce production, reflecting the superior quality of Zhongba Soy Sauce, which "gathers the essence of heaven and earth, and captures the spirit of the sun and moon."

The Western Sichuan Folk Culture Exhibition Area displays traditional Western Sichuan residential houses and daily utensils, recreating the daily life and production scenes of people in the Western Sichuan region.

Modern production line landscapes allow visitors to observe the manufacturing processes of a series of products such as sauces, vinegars, cooking wines, and spicy sauces, and to experience the historical evolution of sauce-making craftsmanship.

The scenic area has now developed multiple thematic exhibition halls with comprehensive tourism elements, offering strong visitor experiences. Various ecological indicators such as air quality, water quality, environmental noise, and soil quality within the scenic area all meet high standards. Under strict management in accordance with relevant conservation plans, all resources are well preserved.

Development Overview

China Sauce Culture Expo Park is managed and operated by Sichuan Qingxiangyuan Seasonings Co., Ltd. It opened to the public and began receiving tourists in 2014. Since its opening, the scenic area has consistently adhered to the construction guiding principle of "overall planning, step-by-step implementation," achieving sustainable development. In 2015, the "China Sauce Culture Expo Park" was authorized by the China Condiment Association as the only domestic site permitted to use the title "China Sauce Culture Expo Park."

In 2016, the scenic area entered a period of rapid development. The company invested over 40 million yuan, inviting a professional planning firm to develop a 15-year overall tourism development plan and a AAA-level creation implementation plan. Guided by the scenic area plan and implementation scheme, the company protected the aquatic resources of the scenic area, planted flowers, renovated ancient buildings and traditional workshops, added food and leisure experiences, offline experiential tourism projects, and viewing pathways, as well as improved supporting service facilities such as the visitor center, signage, restrooms, and security. As a result, the scenic area offers richer tourism products, more beautiful environments, and better-equipped facilities, earning widespread praise from visitors. Meanwhile, under the guidance of the plan, the scenic area strengthened internal management by hiring a group of professionals as management and operation consultants, which significantly improved visitor satisfaction. Additionally, the company placed emphasis on scenic area promotion and marketing, holding promotional events in cities such as Chongqing, Xi'an, and Chengdu, greatly enhancing the scenic area’s visibility, visitor volume, and tourism revenue. Currently, the short-term construction plan of China Sauce Culture Expo Park has been implemented, with medium- and long-term plans to be gradually carried out. The company aims to develop the scenic area into a renowned industrial cultural tourism destination in western China and even nationwide.

To date, China Sauce Culture Expo Park has invested a total of over 45 million yuan. In 2016, it received nearly 310,000 visitors. From January to August 2017, it had already welcomed 280,000 visitors, with an estimated annual total of 370,000. While completing its website upgrade, the scenic area also launched a WeChat public information service platform; installed one electronic touch screen and four large LED screens; and achieved free Wi-Fi coverage in core areas such as the experience center. The quality of services including parking lot services, ticketing services, visitor center services, guided tour services, F&B services, tourism shopping services, and consultation services has significantly improved.
