Huguan Happy Taihang Valley Scenic Area

Huguan Happy Taihang Valley Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Happy Taihang Valley was commenced in August 2015 and officially opened in July 2017 by Changzhi Holiday Happy World Tourism Development Co., Ltd. By the end of 2018, its four core sections — Adventure Plaza, Water World, Happy Island, and the Specialty Commercial Street — had all been completed. The resort now employs over 400 staff members, hosts more than 170 tenant businesses, and provides job opportunities for over a thousand people.

Adventure Plaza features multi-layered vegetation and water landscapes, and offers more than 50 adult rides including a Ferris wheel, Space Shot, Magic Loop roller coaster, pirate ship, bungee jumping, giant swing, triple-loop roller coaster, rocket bungee, go-karts, and bumper cars. The children’s area — Happy Castle — spans over 6,000 square meters and includes ocean balls, jungle talk shows, and more than 100 kids’ rides.

Water World is themed around tsunamis and boasts Shanxi’s largest tsunami wave pool and cliff slides. In summer, it opens with over ten major water attractions such as the Tsunami Pool, Kamikaze, Tornado, Beauty Flower King, Sled Cannon, Rainbow Slide, Giant Water Fortress, and Competition Park.

Happy Island features a cute pet zoo, Bird Island, Journey to the West Palace, holographic cinema, family kitchen, and lakeside cruise boats. The cute pet zoo houses nearly 50 species of adorable animals such as alpacas, prairie dogs, miniature horses, sika deer, golden monkeys, white foxes, and guinea pigs. Bird Island is home to over 20 types of birds including peacocks, parrots, white peacocks, swans, and mynas. The Journey to the West Palace and holographic cinema are the latest high-tech attractions that offer immersive experiences you won’t forget. There are also over 30 types of cruise boats including group boats, double-seaters, four-seaters, barbecue boats, and mahjong boats, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing time on the water.

The Specialty Commercial Street consists of a Folk Culture Street and a Mediterranean Style Street. The Folk Culture Street is designed with Huizhou-style architecture, while the Mediterranean Style Street showcases Mediterranean architectural elements, creating unique shopping and leisure experiences through diverse styles. The commercial street is also the hub for live performances, including activities like the Bridal Ball Toss, Martial Arts Bridesmaid Selection, Qin Qiong Selling His Horse, acrobatic shows, and clown interactions that will keep you thoroughly entertained.

Happy Taihang Valley has created four large floats based on local Shanxi myths and legends: Hou Yi Shooting the Suns, Jingwei Filling the Sea, Emperor Yan Farming, and Qin Qiong Selling His Horse. Each float is equipped with a sound system to help more visitors learn about and fall in love with Changzhi.

Phase two plans include a wildlife park, which will feature large-scale free-range wildlife and safari tours. It integrates animal and plant conservation, tourism, and science education, while maintaining harmonious development with the surrounding ecosystem. Visitors can explore through lush jungles and walk near roaring tigers and lions. This creates a high-quality wildlife ecological park where green mountains, clear waters, animals, and people coexist naturally.
