Shiping Forest Park

Established as a provincial-level forest park in 1995, it covers a total area of over 35,000 mu and is located 9 kilometers from the new county seat of Fengdu. According to investigations and evaluations by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Forestry, Shiping Forest Park is one of the best-preserved areas of evergreen broad-leaved forests in low-altitude subtropical regions along the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. It has been designated by the Ministry of Forestry as a wildlife monitoring station in the Three Gorges Reservoir area of the Yangtze River. The park boasts extremely rich flora and fauna resources, including over 1,000 species of plants from 89 families and 152 genera, among which there are 36 species of national Class I and II plants, 25 key flower varieties, and 11 rare flower species. As for wildlife, there are 76 species of mammals, 24 species of amphibians, 53 species of beneficial birds, and 13 species of ornamental birds, including 4 species of nationally rare plants.
