The Longhe River Valley Water Conservancy Scenic Area covers an area of 273.12 square kilometers, including a water surface area of 13.23 square kilometers. It is a hybrid water conservancy scenic area that combines natural rivers and lakes with reservoirs. Relying on three major water bodies—the Longhe River, a first-level tributary of the Yangtze River, the Shipan Hydropower Station, and the Yujiankou Hydropower Station—the area is naturally linked together by the Longhe River, forming such attractions as the Xueyu Cave National 4A-level Scenic Spot, Longhe National Wetland Park, Niuchuan Gorge Drifting, Longhe Mountain Stream Waterfalls, and Cliffside Plank Walks. This scenic area adheres to the management philosophy of protecting natural resources, improving the ecological environment, developing tourism resources, promoting local culture, enhancing quality of life, and enriching cultural activities.
