Shanzishan Bamboo Sea

Shanzishan Bamboo Sea is located in Baizhu Village in the northwest of Yuexi Town, Kaixian District, bordering Taian Village of Zhongxing Township to the west and backed by Dongzi River to the north. It can be reached by taking a bus from Kaixian to Yuexi via the Chongqing–Wanzhou Expressway and Wanzhou–Kaixian Expressway. The site is 86 kilometers from the county seat, with recently renovated roads. It serves as an ideal destination for leisure, entertainment, health, sightseeing, and summer retreats.

Shanzishan Bamboo Sea boasts tranquil valleys, simple folkways, and picturesque mountains and waters, making it an excellent scenic area for vacationing and reconnecting with nature. Situated at an altitude of 850 meters, it encompasses 12,897 acres of natural forest and over 2,800 acres of bamboo groves. The Bamei River flows through the area, and its canyon stretches 5 kilometers in length with an average width of 200 meters—narrowing to just over 10 meters at its tightest point—and reaches a depth of 300 meters. There are 106 large and small karst caves, each containing uniquely shaped stalactites and stalagmites, along with the distinctive Roaring Spring.
