Shuiyun Houba Leisure Agriculture Sightseeing Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction. It is located in the eastern part of Kaixian, about 15 kilometers from the new county town of Kaixian, with convenient transportation. Adjacent to Hanfeng Lake and featuring vast wetlands, it is home to the only “Three Gorges Underwater Farm” in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area. Supported by its ten-thousand-mu farmland, ten-thousand-mu water surfaces, and ten-thousand-mu citrus orchards in the central mountainous area, Houba Town vigorously develops distinctive and green industries. It has comprehensively built a model site for rural tourism, establishing multiple leisure resorts such as the Strawberry Garden, Happy Farm, Huajian Grape City, and Shuiyuntian, as well as over twenty tourism reception sites including the JinXiao Farm. Houhu · Shuiyuntian Leisure Resort is part of the core scenic area of the national AAA-level Shuiyun Houba Tourist Attraction and a key site of the municipal-level leisure agriculture and rural tourism demonstration spot. It is a modern garden-style ecological manor integrating specialized aquaculture, leisure and entertainment, sightseeing tourism, science education culture, and specialty dining. The resort features “countryside, water town, water proximity, and nature.” Its area is dotted with water bodies and boasts a beautiful environment, where visitors can swim and play in the water, cruise the lake, stroll along the willow-lined riverbanks, or enjoy the lake and mountain scenery. The manor offers distinctive farmhouse cuisine (including ecological aquatic products, farmhouse home-style dishes, ecological poultry, farmhouse ding pot rice, handmade tofu pudding, and traditional holiday meals), with a capacity to serve 500 guests simultaneously. Its main services include tourism reception, official receptions, business receptions, conference hosting, and celebratory banquets. In 2014, its related aquatic products received the Ministry of Agriculture’s pollution-free agricultural product certification. In 2015, Shuiyuntian Spicy Rabbit was named a “Kaizhou Famous Dish,” and Shuiyuntian Spicy Fish was recognized as a “Kaizhou Specialty Dish.” In the same year, it became a national sponge wetland home and a demonstration site for wetland industry development. It also hosted the Yangtze River Basin Network Wetland Protection Annual Conference organized by the Ministry of Forestry, and organized the first “Shuiyun Houba · Fishing Paradise” Fishing Festival in Houba, Kaixian.
