Longtouzui Forest Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Longtouzui Forest Park is located in Xiongying Village, Zishui Township, Kaizhou District, Chongqing, at an altitude of 1,200–1,600 meters. It covers a total area of 322 hectares, consisting mainly of coniferous and broadleaf forests, along with some grasslands, farmland, and wasteland.

As visitors walk through the forest, they often spot squirrels leaping among the trees, birds chirping on the branches, pheasants running through the woods, and eagles soaring in the blue sky. From higher vantage points, the lush mountains appear inky-black, with layered peaks and mist-shrouded ridges that seem like ten thousand horses galloping forward—creating a majestic and breathtaking scene. Longtouzui Forest Park is a comprehensive park that combines natural scenery, wetland landscapes, hiking and mountaineering, outdoor sports, leisure and entertainment, summer retreats and wellness, planting and breeding, as well as garden spaces.

The central and western parts of the park are gently undulating and open, surrounded by cliffs and precipices, with continuous mountain ridges, numerous cliffs, strange peaks, steep faces, and unique rocks. Longtou Peak resembles a soaring dragon; Eagle Peak looks like a hawk in flight; Eagle Rock features sheer cliffs thousands of feet high, exceptionally steep and precipitous; the Stone Father and Stone Mother stand tall and unyielding, symbolizing everlasting togetherness; Mushroom Peak, Upside-down Boot Rock, and Three Officials Rock are all uniquely shaped; Guanyin Cave and Decapitated Valley are shrouded in mystery.

Eagle Peak, originally named Three Rocks, is part of the Daba Mountain range and is associated with Guadou Mountain. It earned its name due to several tail-like ridges that spread out like melon vines. It spans three townships in Kaizhou: Longcha, Shuitian, and Wuhe. The highest peak, Eagle Rock, stands at an elevation of 1,596 meters, with a giant boulder at its summit. A water-patterned line around the middle of the boulder divides it into three layers, arranged in a stepped, overlapping formation—hence the name “Three Rocks.” This formation can be seen from dozens of miles away. Beside the peak is a peculiar rock that juts out sharply, closely resembling a Buddhist musical instrument called a “qing,” and is thus named “Qingzi Rock” (Qing Rock).

The scenery of Three Rocks is grand, majestic, and spectacular, with crisscrossing gullies. Locals call it the “Thirty-Six Gorges.” At an altitude of 1,596 meters, even during scorching summers, a cool breeze blows at Three Rocks, making it an ideal summer retreat.

Longtou Peak gets its name from its resemblance to a soaring dragon. Eagle Peak looks like a hawk in flight. Eagle Rock features sheer cliffs and is extremely steep. There are also unique sights such as the Stone Father and Stone Mother, Mushroom Peak, Upside-down Boot Rock, and Three Officials Rock.

Due to its high elevation, Longtouzui Forest Park is also a popular summer retreat. Summers in Kaizhou (urban area), Chongqing, are quite hot, and the cool climate of the northern mountainous region attracts many people looking to escape the heat. In winter, snow frequently visits this area, making it one of the go-to destinations for snow viewing.

The appeal of Longtouzui goes far beyond its natural scenery. There are plenty of fun activities here, such as camping, outdoor adventure sports, horseback riding—it’s also a paradise for off-road vehicle enthusiasts. On one side of the scenic area, there is a dedicated off-road racing track where you can experience “speed and excitement.”
