I. Scenic Area Introduction

The Imperial Spring River Scenic Area is located 18 kilometers southeast of Fuling District, Chongqing, and 128 kilometers from downtown Chongqing. It belongs to the vast Wu River system. The clear and pristine Imperial Spring River flows through canyons and gullies, gathering into pools that are like emeralds and jade inlaid in the landscape. The canyon is covered with dense primitive vegetation, with lush trees, intertwined roots, and a variety of cascading waterfalls resembling heavenly nectar flowing into the human world.

The Imperial Spring River Scenic Area is designed and built according to the standards of a three-star hotel. Covering an area of 100 acres, it features luxurious holiday villas, tranquil quadrangle courtyards, and can accommodate nearly 800 vacationers. The restaurant can serve up to 250 diners at once. The lakeside tea house by the canyon can host 60 guests for tea and rest. The barbecue area can cater to 100 people at the same time; the conference center has six meeting rooms and reception halls of various sizes, with a reception capacity of 250 people. The dance hall offers an elegant environment and advanced equipment. In addition, there is also a newly built tennis court and a natural swimming area in the canyon.

Bayi Lake is located upstream of the Imperial Spring River at Lianghui Kou, with a water storage capacity of 800,000 cubic meters and a lake surface stretching 3.5 kilometers. The water quality of Bayi Lake is excellent, with azure blue waters and gentle ripples on the surface. The shores are filled with birdsong and floral scents, surrounded by lush green pines, bamboo, and rich primitive vegetation. It is an ideal spot for outdoor leisure and sightseeing.

II. Attractions Introduction

A 4-kilometer-long ancient canyon sightseeing path has been widened and reinforced, preserving its majestic, steep, primitive, and rustic charm. What used to be steep and difficult riverbanks have now become accessible pathways. Walking along this ancient path, you can admire the wonders of nature, reflect on the hardships of the ancestors of the Ba-Yu people as they lived and thrived, and ponder the mysteries of the ancient Ba people’s disappearance. Wandering between the green mountains and clear waters, you can fulfill a dream of tracing your roots.

The 3-kilometer-long “Bayi Lake” is flanked by green pines, bamboo, and serene valleys layered with lush greenery. The lake water ripples with blue waves, accompanied by birdsong and floral aromas, with its primitive ecology well preserved. Whether you choose to rest and stay by the lakeshore or go boating on the lake to explore and seek the ancient past, you will feel refreshed and relaxed. While enjoying tea, resting, or playing in the water by boat, you can experience the joy of returning to nature and savoring life to the fullest—an endless source of delight and pleasure.

According to research, after the ancient Ba Kingdom fell, one branch of the royal family fled here and settled in the deep mountains and valleys, where they thrived and became the ancestors of the Ba-Yu people. To this day, remnants of the ancient Ba people such as hanging coffins, plank roads, and cave dwellings can still be found in the canyon.

III. Ticket and Opening Hours

There is no entrance fee for the scenic area. The prices for entertainment activities are as follows:

Rafting: Monday to Thursday (Adults: 90 RMB/person, Children: 50 RMB/person).

Friday to Sunday (Adults: 118 RMB/person, Children: 60 RMB/person), including holidays.

IV. Recommended Features of the Scenic Area

The 5-kilometer-long canyon rafting is a traditional tourism activity of the scenic area. Among them, the unique canyon cave rafting is even more distinctive. Every summer and autumn, riding a rubber raft and drifting down with the waves, when the green water kisses your skin, the deep canyon intoxicates your eyes, the emerald pools stir your childlike heart, and the underground rivers spark your dreams, the fatigue and dullness of urban life will vanish instantly, and vitality will return in a flash.

The tranquil quadrangle courtyard is located in the scenic area’s reception center, surrounded by trees and offering pleasant scenery. Staying here allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the tranquility of nature.

Dining: The cuisine mainly features farmhouse-style dishes, with specialties including barbecues (whole roasted lamb, roast chicken) and game meat.
