Introduction The tourism resources of the Wujiang River are rich and diverse. A thousand-li stretch of the Wujiang forms a picturesque corridor. With its winding mountains and breathtaking scenery, the river embodies grandeur, wonder, peril, beauty, and serenity all in one—qualities that have earned it high praise. The people along the Wujiang River are simple and sincere, with distinctive local customs; its residents are warm and hospitable, exuding great charm. The Tang Dynasty poet Meng Jiao praised the Wujiang in this way: “It has long been said that half the world’s mountains lie verdant in Guizhou; I’ve also heard that half the world’s springs sing their songs in Guizhou. Mountains and waters wind endlessly, where gentlemen walk in grace.” The great poet Bai Juyi, upon seeing the azure waters of the Wujiang, was so moved that he wrote: “The river bends thrice with sorrow, as parted lovers feel the rain-soaked blues; after autumn’s touch, the water turns crystal clear and blue.” The Qing Dynasty poet Weng Ruomei traveled the Wujiang River many times and never tired of its scenery, often marveling at its beauty. Thus, in his poem “Traveling by Boat on the Fu River to Wulong,” he penned the line: “Among all the wondrous landscapes of Sichuan, this one ranks the very first.”
