Liangping County Ten-Thousand-Mu Agricultural Eco-Park

Liangping County Ten-Thousand-Mu Agricultural Eco-Park is located in the northwest of Liangshan Town, Liangping County, about 1 kilometer from the county seat. The Chongqing-Yichang Expressway and Dazhou-Wanzhou Railway run nearby, and there are direct buses from the county town to the park. It is an ecological tourism area integrating agricultural sightseeing, eco-farm experiences, science education, and leisure activities. The eco-park has been under planning and construction since 2003. To date, 5,000 mu of the park have been developed. Additionally, a “China Famous Pomelo Park Plaza” covering 23 mu has been built, featuring functions such as leisure, fitness, and pomelo trading. A fully equipped village-level service center with a construction area of 600 square meters has also been established. Two circular roads within the pomelo orchard, totaling 3.5 kilometers, have been fully paved and opened to traffic. Another park road, the Heping Road, 3.9 kilometers long, has also been completely paved and is operational. Thirteen passing lanes have been added on Xilong Road, Youxian Road, and Youfeng Road. The widening of the 1.4-kilometer pomelo orchard road in the core area has been completed. The parking lot at the pomelo orchard plaza has been finished, with 41 small parking spaces, 5 medium-sized ones, and 6 large ones. The orchard features irrigation facilities such as water ponds, canals, and pipe networks, along with 25.3 kilometers of fruit-picking paths and pedestrian walkways.

The scenic area covers 10,057 mu and is part of the suburban agritainment leisure zone of Liangping County. It spans several administrative villages, including Shidai Village, Qunyi Village, Bajiao Village, Qingdu Village, Songzhu Village, and Xinglong Village in Liangshan Town. The area is divided into three major functional zones: the central scenic area — the Eco-Orchard Cultural Sightseeing Tourism Zone — which is based on contiguous orchards and includes gourmet dining, folk-style accommodation, specialized fruit tree planting training, and agritainment leisure; the Wenfeng Pagoda Ancient Street Leisure and Reception Zone, centered around the historic Wenfeng Pagoda; and the Mountain-Following Eco-Fitness Resort Zone, which focuses on agricultural experiences, health and sports activities, and rural holidays. The area features flat roads, unobstructed canals, orchards all around, meandering streams, and traditional southwest-style antique houses with grey tiles, white walls, and sloped roofs, presenting a beautiful pastoral scene. The area is also home to the second tallest stone pagoda in China — the Wenfeng Pagoda. Climbing to the top offers a panoramic view of the Liangping Basin.
