Chongqing Beiquan Hot Spring Scenic Area

Chongqing Beiquan Hot Spring Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The famous Beiquan Park is located in Beibei District, Chongqing, bordered by the Jialing River to the north and leaning against Jinyun Mountain to the south. Beiquan Park derives its name from its hot springs. There are 10 spring sources with water temperatures typically ranging from 35 to 39 degrees Celsius and a daily flow of over 5,000 tons. The springs are weakly alkaline, sulfate-type mineral waters, which are believed to have certain therapeutic effects on skin, joint, and gastrointestinal ailments.

Beiquan Park

Beiquan Park is built along the natural mountainous terrain, and its garden landscape integrates ancient temples, pavilions, mountains, water, forests, springs, gorges, and caves. Pavilions and towers are scattered in an orderly fashion amid lush bamboo groves and verdant woods, creating picturesque scenery with its mountain views and shimmering waters. The park's main attractions center around four major halls: Guansheng Hall, Jieyin Hall, Dafo Hall, and Guanyin Hall. To the east of the four halls lie the Ancient Fragrance Garden, Stone Carving Garden, Fish Viewing Pond, and Lotus Pond; to the north are attractions such as Ruhua Cave and Five Pools Reflecting the Moon. The Ancient Fragrance Garden is the former site of the Hot Spring Temple, where towering ancient trees provide dense shade and preserve the tomb pagodas of monks from the Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The Stone Carving Garden mainly houses stone tablets from the Song, Ming, and Qing periods, among which the Ming Dynasty Panlong Pagoda is a treasured piece of stone carving art. Buildings such as Shufan Tower and Bolin Tower became historically significant guesthouses during the War of Resistance and are associated with numerous valuable inscriptions left by notable Chinese and foreign visitors. In recent years, new attractions have been added, including Liucui Garden, Orchid Pool, Tangchi (Hot Spring Pool), and Lianxi.
