Jingguan Flower and Wood Ecotourism Area

Jingguan Flower and Wood Ecotourism Area is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Jingguan Forest Park is located in Jingguan Town, Beibei District, Chongqing, in the northeastern part of the area known as the "Hometown of Flowers and Trees in China." It can be accessed via the road from Beibei to Jindaoxia. The park is 20 kilometers from the city center of Beibei District and is classified as a hilly natural scenic tourism area.

Jingguan Forest Park is a municipal-level forest park in Chongqing, covering an area of 18.9 square kilometers, with 14 square kilometers of forested land and a forest coverage rate of 74.5%. The original vegetation in the park belongs to the subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest zone. The vegetation types consist mainly of mixed evergreen broad-leaved forests and mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests formed by species such as pine, cypress, fir, camphor, and nanmu. The dominant tree species are pines, followed by firs and cypresses, with other species including cyclobalanopsis, tung trees, and more.

The bamboo groves mainly consist of moso bamboo, water bamboo, white bamboo, and a small amount of nanmu bamboo. By type, the woody oil plants include tung trees and walnuts; economic forest trees include privet and palms; shrubs include red-seed plants, eurya, and azaleas; vines include raspberries, kiwi vines, and kudzu; and herbaceous plants include small thatch grass, cogon grass, and ferns. The most distinctive feature of the area is its flower and nursery cultivation, which boasts a history of over 520 years. The flower cultivation area spans 10 square kilometers, earning the region the title of "Hometown of Flowers and Trees in China." It is also the birthplace of the flower art of central and eastern Sichuan, one of the five major schools of Chinese penjing (potted plant art), renowned for its artificial shaping and landscape design.

Currently, the park cultivates over 900 varieties of flowers. In spring, red plum blossoms, Bauhinia, and crabapple bloom competitively, while cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, and azaleas adorn the branches; in summer, lotus flowers rise from the mud, standing tall and elegant, with magnolia blossoming brilliantly; in autumn, chrysanthemums display their yellow blooms, hibiscus competes in color, osmanthus fills the air with fragrance, and pomegranates glow golden; in winter, pines and cypresses remain evergreen, with sturdy cuttings and lush greenery all around.
