Dadi Fishing Village is located in Shuitu Town, Beibei District, Chongqing. To the north are the Rural Carnival and Chongqing Agricultural Valley, while to the south lie the Lesser Three Gorges of the Jialing River. It is just 2 kilometers from the Xingren exit of the Chongqing Ring (Second Ring) Expressway, and the Jing (Guan)–Shui (Tu) Scenic Boulevard runs right through the village, giving it a highly advantageous location and transportation access.

The village has 1,500 acres of intensively managed fish ponds, producing nearly 2,000 tons of organic fish annually with an output value exceeding 14 million yuan, making it one of the largest organic fish farming bases in Chongqing. In addition, it cultivates over 1,400 acres of flowers, generating over 10 million yuan in output value. Through years of development, the village has preliminarily established itself as a new-style garden fishing village with the architectural style of eastern Sichuan, integrating leisure, entertainment, tourism, fishing, and dining. In 2007, Dadi Fishing Village achieved a total economic output value of 160 million yuan, with per capita annual income for farmers reaching 9,180 yuan. In 2006, it was named a “Chongqing New Rural Construction Demonstration Village” by the Chongqing Municipal Committee, and in 2007, it was awarded the titles of “Chongqing Civilized Village” and “Advanced Village in Spiritual Civilization Development in the Ten Years Since Chongqing’s Direct Governance” by the Chongqing Municipal Government.

In recent times, the village has carried out beautification efforts alongside the implementation of the Beijin Road Rural Housing Renovation Project, sprucing up hardware facilities across a 1-square-kilometer area. Key initiatives included constructing roads around the village, leisure pavilions, and other tourism-related facilities, planting greenery, renovating building facades, and reinforcing fish ponds. The beautification project was executed with high standards and a unified approach, integrating environmental enhancement with improved living and production conditions. Within three months, over 1 million yuan was invested to renovate the facades of more than 200 rural households, build five fishing and leisure pavilions, and construct a walking trail encircling the village. A collection of new residences, tastefully designed in the classic eastern Sichuan style, emerged with elegant aesthetics and well-balanced layouts, completely transforming the appearance of Dadi Fishing Village into a beautiful scenic spot along the Beijin Road.

Over the years, the village has developed two major industry pillars: fisheries and floriculture. Its guiding principle for development is to leverage existing strengths, expand established industries, and actively support emerging sectors. In fisheries, emphasis is placed on brand building. After years of effort, Dadi Fishing Village was awarded the title of “Organic Fish Base” in 2006 and recognized as a “Specialized Cooperative” by the National Ministry of Agriculture in 2007. On this foundation, an additional 300 acres of organic fish farming areas were added, bringing the total to 1,500 acres. The village also benefits from strong association support. A fisheries association was established to provide services such as technical training, fish fry supply, direct feed procurement, and market sales for fish farmers. In 2007, the association directly procured over 5,000 tons of fish feed and sold more than 1,900 tons of adult fish, generating over 14 million yuan in revenue. Thanks to the comprehensive services provided by the association, fish farmers have become highly motivated. In floriculture, the village cultivates over 1,000 acres of flowers with a rich variety of species. Recently, four new investors have joined to further develop the sector, adding over 450 acres of new flower cultivation areas and strengthening the local floriculture industry.

In addition to fisheries and floriculture, the village has integrated tourism, leisure fishing, dining, and entertainment into a comprehensive business model, striving to create a high-end, distinctive, and fully featured tourism destination. This effort aims to elevate the tourism appeal of Beibei, positioning Dadi Fishing Village as a key leisure attraction. Leisure fishing is a highlight here, with many enthusiasts and tourists visiting daily to fish by the ponds. The village is also a great place to enjoy rural scenery—visitors can stroll country paths, dine on farmhouse meals, and stay at local guesthouses, offering a popular leisure option for urban dwellers. Building on existing farmhouse accommodations, the village has developed four new star-rated guesthouses, bringing the total to 15, with capacity to accommodate and serve around 1,000 guests simultaneously. Leveraging its fishing industry, dry-braised fish has become a signature dish that attracts many diners. Especially on weekends, numerous visitors come to enjoy this specialty. The Tangkou Filial Piety Archway, built during the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty, is also a notable scenic and cultural attraction in the village.
