Yin-Tiaoling Nature Reserve is an extension of the primeval forests of Shennongjia, with an average elevation of 1,900 meters, and is the only remaining tract of primeval forest in Chongqing.

The reserve boasts over 1,500 plant species, various representative ecosystems, and a wealth of rare and endangered species, including 15 species under national first-class protection such as ginkgo, dove tree, wintersweet, Chinese fir, and yew—making it a rare "natural gene bank of species." The forested area is vast and seemingly boundless, making it the best destination in Chongqing for forest tourism and scientific exploration adventures.

Yin-Tiaoling Nature Reserve is an extension of the primeval forests of Shennongjia, covering a total area of 120,000 mu, including 87,000 mu of primeval forest, with an average elevation of 1,900 meters. It is the only remaining tract of primeval forest in Chongqing. Its main peak, Yin-Tiaoling, stands at 2,796.8 meters above sea level, making it the highest point in Chongqing and known as the "First Peak of Chongqing." The reserve is home to over 1,500 plant species, various representative ecosystems, and a wealth of rare and endangered species, including 15 species under national first-class protection such as ginkgo, dove tree, wintersweet, Chinese fir, and yew—making it a rare "natural gene bank of species." Rare and exotic plants such as "Heavenly Pearl," "Seven-Leaf One-Flower," "King’s Writing Brush," and "Riverbank Bowl Water" can be found throughout the reserve. More than 300 species of nationally protected wildlife, including golden eagles, white bears, white foxes, leopards, and red pandas, roam the forest. The vast sea of trees is endless, with misty clouds and breathtaking scenery. Attractions such as Tiger-Beating Plain, Male-Female Spring, Ten-Thousand-Snake Mountain, Life-Losing Mound, Life-Risking Shoal, Devil’s Nose, and Ghost Gate Pass are thrilling to visit. There’s also the mystery of the "Wild Man" and the legendary Lanying Stockade, all of which are fascinating. Known as the "First Garden of the Three Gorges," it is the best destination in Chongqing for forest tourism and scientific exploration adventures.
