Ledong Baishahedu Local Culture Park

Ledong Baishahedu Local Culture Park is situated at the north end of Baishahed Bridge in Fulu Town, at the 312-kilometer mark of National Highway 225 (Haiyu West Line). It spans 22 acres and mainly exhibits Li ethnic cultural collections through a private museum. These include displays of Hainan’s Li and Han ethnic folk culture artifacts; research, preservation, and inheritance of the intangible cultural heritage of Hainan’s Li and Han peoples; as well as the promotion of Hainan’s huanghuali (scented rosewood) culture and the protection of rare native tree species such as huanghuali.

The culture park has now built a Hainan Native Culture Museum, housing thousands of artifacts from the Li, Miao, and Han ethnic groups. There is also a 22-acre cultural ecological botanical garden featuring over 200 mature huanghuali trees and more than 300 varieties of precious native trees and herbs. Additionally, multiple native cultural landscapes have been constructed, such as the “South Sea Divine Needle” totem pole, a matrilineal Li frog house, stilted wooden houses, a waterwheel, three antique-style wooden bridges, wooden boats, and the ancient Ganshui Post—once a Northern Song Dynasty site. Natural attractions include two ponds, one cooling pool, and a historic cold spring, collectively forming a complete destination for native cultural tourism.
