The Jun Tun Tropical Flower and Fruit Garden is located in the ancient town of Nada in Danzhou City, Hainan Province, just 2 kilometers from downtown Nada. Covering an area of 5,600 mu, it includes 600 mu of Fei Zi Xiao lychee orchards and over 300

mu of water surface in East Lake, 30 mu of special freshwater aquaculture, 500 mu of tropical flower and fruit nurseries, 20 holiday villas, and well-equipped supporting facilities. East Lake offers

a full range of water activities including motorboats, rowboats, and pedal boats. The Jun Tun Tropical Flower and Fruit Garden is a major leisure and sightseeing destination in Danzhou.

Walking along the cement path around the lake is the best way to explore the flower and fruit garden. This allows you not only to view the fruit orchards and hillsides along the outer edge of the path but also to enjoy the lake and its scenery — including the small islands within, nearby trees, and distant mountains — from various angles.

Upon entering the Jun Tun Flower and Fruit Garden resort, what greets your eyes are fruit trees covering the hillsides, shimmering lake water, and several charming European-style buildings scattered throughout. Most people would never guess that this is an agro-tourism project built by the farmers of Jun Tun Village, Danzhou City, who invested over 30 million yuan to develop this site on thousands of mu of barren mountain slopes in their village.

In 1993, Jun Tun Village began developing collective enterprises focused on the tertiary industry using compensation funds from state land requisitions, which greatly boosted the village’s economy. In 1995, the village committee set its sights on the over 5,000 mu of barren mountain land on Dabao Mountain within the village, proposing to build an agro-tourism park there. The proposal received widespread support. Although tourism development was uncharted territory for the villagers, they were full of confidence. They invited professors from agricultural universities to help plan the project, organized multiple training sessions for staff at provincial and municipal tourism bureaus, and arranged for management personnel to receive professional tourism training at Hainan Tourism School. What were once somewhat rustic young men and women now wear uniforms, speak professionally, and behave courteously — matching the standards of service staff trained at specialized institutions.

Over the past five years, Jun Tun Village has invested more than 30 million yuan to initially establish the 5,600-mu Flower and Fruit Garden. They built a dam to create East Lake with over 300 mu of water surface, planted 1,500 mu of lychee, mango, and longan trees along the hills and lake, established a hundred-flower garden, a tropical wild plant garden, and a Chinese soft-shell turtle farm, built 18 holiday villas, and recently added attractions such as the Fishing View Villa and a large central lake fountain. Currently, the Flower and Fruit Garden resort receives nearly 500 visitors per day on average, and this year’s revenue is expected to reach 800,000 yuan.
