Tingzhou Village is located on the banks of the Wanquan River in Qionghai, Hainan. Along the approximately 500-meter stretch of riverbank to the north of the village, three docks have been built. The ancient trees at the docks stretch from the shore into the river like giant parasols. Tingzhou Village also has a Mazu Ridge, atop which stands the Tingzhou Pagoda built during the Song Dynasty. Unfortunately, this Song-era pagoda was destroyed during the "Cultural Revolution." Otherwise, together with the Lotus Mound on the opposite bank of the river and the Guanyin of the South Sea, it would have become a must-visit attraction for tourists in Bo’ao.

Tingzhou Village is one of Qionghai’s overseas Chinese villages. To this day, the village retains numerous ancient residences that are over a hundred years old. These homes feature architectural styles that blend traditional Hainan elements with Southeast Asian influences. Coupled with the village’s excellent natural ecological environment, beautiful pastoral scenery, tropical fruits that are in season all year round, and the warm hospitality of the villagers, the place often attracts batches of art students who come here to paint and create.

In an effort to build a civilized and ecologically friendly village, in recent years, the village has invested 440,000 yuan to pave six cement roads totaling 1,800 meters in length and to plant grass on 1,300 square meters of pathways. What they take even greater pride in are the nearby sports court and theater, each covering an area of 800 square meters. It is said that the villagers also plan to build facilities along the river such as a swimming pool, a waterside pavilion, and fishing platforms to attract more tourists to visit and explore the area.
