Boao

Boao is known as a water city. It is located at the mouth of the Wanquan River in Qionghai City, Hainan Province, China. Within the river mouth are two islands, Dongyu and Yuanyang, which create a picturesque scene of water dotted with islands and islands surrounded by water, with shimmering ripples and beautiful scenery. It is praised as a marvelous scroll of southern landscape.

Centered around the Asia Forum, the establishment of the Boao Forum for Asia venue in Boao made the town famous overnight. The construction of the permanent venue of the Asia Forum on Dongyu Island has also made Boao the only place in China that hosts a regular, fixed-location, non-governmental international conference organization. The Dongyu Island Hot Springs and Boao Golf Club, built next to the venue, integrate leisure and entertainment on Dongyu Island.

Centered around culture, the Boao Zen Temple at the Boao Oriental Culture Park showcases Buddhist culture, while the Lotus Pavilion in the park’s theme area adds to the lotus culture, and the Seven Treasures Lotus Pond is a full representation of Sino-Japanese friendship.

Centered around Boao Port, the port area is vast, the terrain is rugged, and there are many scenic spots. To the east lies the Yudai Beach, recognized by the Guinness World Records as the longest sandbar peninsula in the world, separating the South China Sea from the Wanquan River. Foreign experts have called it the most perfectly formed sandbar peninsula dividing sea and river in the world, as well as the most pristine estuarine environment at a river mouth. Other attractions include the Dale Wanquan River Bridge and the Sacred Rock.
