The Debao Pony Kingdom Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

“The world’s ponies are best seen in China, and China’s ponies are best seen in Debao.” The Debao Pony Kingdom Scenic Area is a key project in the county’s rural tourism development. It is a theme park that integrates the history and culture of Debao ponies with modern leisure tourism, showcasing the distinctive beauty of pony culture and local folk customs.

The Debao Pony Kingdom Park is located in Boning Village, Xingwang Township, Yan Dongxiang, the county (adjacent to the exit of the national AAAA-level Jixingyan Scenic Area). It is 16 kilometers from the county town, covering a project area of about 1,200 acres. Together with the 600-acre farmland planned on the west side of the national AAAA-level Jixingyan Scenic Area to create a rural complex, as well as the China Debao Pony Conservation Base (150 acres), it forms an integrated development to build a national AAAAA-level scenic area combining “Rural Complex + Jixingyan + Debao Pony Kingdom + China Debao Pony Conservation Base.”

The project is being built in three phases. The first phase covers an area of 400 acres, featuring attractions such as the Pony Kingdom Arena, Cute Pets Tribe, Pony Town, Pony Amusement Park, Pony Theater, Wooden House Hotel, and Tent Hotel. The second and third phases cover 800 acres, mainly including the World Famous Horses Park, Happy Big Top Circus, Outdoor Eco Restaurant, Deer Valley Luxury Tent Area, Birdsong Valley Eco Resort, and more. It is the first domestic pony IP-themed family amusement park integrating anime competitions, parent-child recreation, interactive experiences, educational science outreach, and cultural performances.

The Debao Pony Kingdom has a total investment of 1 billion yuan. Centered around the core charm of the Debao pony’s “cuteness,” the park uses the pony as Debao County’s iconic cultural IP (brand). It creatively designs the character “Pony Baobao” (a homophone for “baby”)—positioned as the “Cuteness King of South China”—and constructs the Pony Kingdom through story-driven, themed narratives. This creates a family-friendly holiday destination with one of China’s most influential strong IP themes.

The project uses five major thematic vibes—Cool (sports), Cute (performance), Learn (study), Fun (entertainment), and Enjoy (resort)—as its conceptual framework. It has planned attractions such as the Horse Racing Field, World Famous Horses Park, Cute Pets Life Tribe, Pony Cowboy Town, Eco Science Park, Animal Big Movie Tent Theater, Happy Big Top Circus, Wooden House and Climbing Adventure Park, Hot Air Balloon Park, Welcome Mini Carriage, Kingdom Mini Train, Outdoor Eco Restaurant, Dwarf Kingdom Fantasy Treehouse, Deer Valley Luxury Tent Area, and Birdsong Valley Eco Resort. The entire area is filled with horse-themed elements. This series of “horse” activities highlights the unique “horse culture” artistry and ethnic charm of the Pony Kingdom.

In the Pony Kingdom Scenic Area, you’ll encounter one exciting and fun “cute pony interaction session” after another. Through creative entertainment, interactive performances, and various ways of engaging with the horses, you can experience the historical bond between humans and horses while learning fun “horse facts.”
