Yiyuan Garden

In the northeast corner of Yongji Town, by the side of the Lei River, there is a mountain and a garden. The mountain is called Tongzi Mountain, and the garden is called Yiyuan. Mr. Song Junyi, the creator of Yiyuan Garden, spent eight years of dedication, consulting experts from all over, gathering ideas, adopting the style of the north and the charm of the south, and selecting this blessed site by the water and against the mountain to build this garden. Upon entering Yiyuan Garden, you are embraced by mountains and waters, shaded by lush trees, with pavilions and towers that exude an antique charm. You can sit cross-legged to play chess, watch fish, take a small boat ride, fish by the pond, or climb to the tower for a distant view of the picturesque scenery. Exiting the garden, take a boat from the riverside ferry at Dahe and head upstream to reach the famous “Golden Thread Fishing the Gourd” spot at Hulukou. A small stream resembles a “golden thread,” and a waterfall hangs above the mouth of the stream, painting a beautiful picture.

Heading back, you’ll find the paradise of birds — Tongzi Mountain, home to egrets, herons, mountain magpies, cranes, quails, ring-necked pheasants… Thousands upon thousands of birds dot the entire forest.
