The Museum of Farming Culture is situated in the picturesque De Tailong Development Zone, close to the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway. It is home to the renowned Qing Dynasty pagoda “Qinglong Pagoda,” with the majestic and imposing government building standing proudly on the right. Shennong Square extends its embrace, commemorating the splendor of history, as the serene Lei River meanders nearby. Designed by professionals from the Hunan Provincial Museum—one of China’s “Top Ten Museums”—the museum features an architectural style that is both classic and modern, reflecting the profound and enduring heritage of Leiyang’s farming culture. The exhibition layout of the Leiyang Farming Museum is simple and clear, highlighting the historical origin of the “Shennong Inventing the Plow” theme, which testifies to the region’s rich legacy. The demonstration hall of modern farming tools comprehensively showcases the agricultural evolution of Leiyang, the land of ancient civilization, reflecting the significant contributions Leiyang has made to global modern agriculture. In 2007, it was rated as a National 2A-level Tourist Attraction.
