Millennium-old Ginkgo Tree

By the sidewalk along the Yuexi River in Suining County stands an ancient ginkgo tree, standing twenty-five meters tall with a crown spanning thirty meters. The trunk is so thick that it takes five people to encircle it, and it is said to be over a thousand years old.

The base of this ginkgo tree has been hollowed out by fire, creating a space large enough to hold three people. Branches begin to emerge from the trunk two meters above the ground, with more than twenty thick branches stretching upward or outward. Above four meters, the main trunk becomes indistinguishable. The branches are divided into long and short ones, with the largest branch having a diameter of forty centimeters and a length of fifteen meters. The branches are evenly distributed, the leaves are uniquely shaped, and the crown forms a beautiful oval. Marks left by time give the tree an ancient and venerable appearance. Topped with a lush green canopy resembling an open umbrella, it stands proudly by the roadside day and night, braving frost and snow, remaining vigorous for a thousand years. To this day, it remains leafy and fruitful. It can be described as lush green all over in spring and summer, and golden yellow in autumn.
