The Tomb of Yuan Wulang and His Wife

The Tomb of Yuan Wulang and His Wife is a cultural relic protection unit of Longhui County.

The Tomb of Yuan Wulang and His Wife, located in Group 2 of Huixiao Village, Gaoping Town, Longhui County, consists of two tombs situated 50 meters apart, covering a combined area of 40 square meters. According to the Yuan family genealogy, Yuan Wulang was the fifth son of Boyong Gong, with the courtesy name Yansiang. He was born on the 12th day of the first lunar month in the year 1100 (the Gengchen year) during the Yuanyou era of Emperor Zhezong of the Northern Song Dynasty, and passed away in the year 1201 (the Xintai year) during the Jiatai era of Emperor Ningzong of the Southern Song Dynasty at the age of 102. Currently, a pagoda stands atop his tomb, consisting of eight levels — the lower five are quadrilateral, while the upper three are circular. His wife, Lady Ouyang, is buried nearby, with her tomb pagoda having ten levels — the lower five are quadrilateral and the upper five are octagonal. Both tombs feature gourd-shaped tops and are constructed from granite. The tombstones respectively bear the names of the deceased. In November 1991, they were designated as a county-level cultural relic protection unit of Longhui County.

Protected Area: Starting from the outer edge of the tombs, the protected zone extends 30 meters in all four directions.

Construction Control Zone: Extending 50 meters beyond the protected area in all four directions.

Established as Daqiao Township in 1956, renamed Gaoping Commune in 1958, reverted to Daqiao Commune in 1961, re-established as Daqiao Township in 1984, and upgraded to Gaoping Town in 1985.
