The Chenzidun Site is a protected cultural heritage site of Hubei Province.

The Chenzidun Site

Located in Gujigang Village, Yong'an Town, Caidian District, it is a site from the Neolithic Age and the Shang-Zhou period. Covering an area of approximately 22,000 square meters, the cultural layer is about 1 meter thick. Artifacts collected here include stone axes, adzes, bronze knives, arrowheads, spears, swords, awls, as well as pottery shards. The Neolithic pottery shards are mainly made of gray clay with some sandy brown clay, featuring decorations such as basket weave patterns and grid patterns. The vessel shapes include tripods and bowls, belonging to the Shijiahe culture. The Shang-Zhou pottery shards are predominantly sandy brown clay, with a small amount of sandy red clay, decorated with cord and string patterns. The vessel shapes include tripods and net sinkers, among others. (Third Batch) Situated by the lakeside, the site covers an area of 3,000 square meters, stretching 200 meters from east to west and 15 meters from north to south. It is a protected cultural heritage site of Hubei Province.
