The Wangcangwu Kiln Site is a protected cultural heritage site of Hubei Province.

Wangcangwu Kiln Site

Located in Zhongzui Village, Duandian Town, Huarong District, Ezhou City, this is a kiln site from the Tang and Five Dynasties periods. Covering an area of about 3,000 square meters, the terrain is higher in the northwest and lower in the southeast. The site features numerous red-fired clay blocks, which are remnants of kiln structures with U-shaped cross-sections. The excavated artifacts are primarily ceramics, along with a small number of pottery pieces. Ceramic forms include jars with loops, bowls, pots, plates, bowls, and small dog models, while pottery items include jars, and kiln furniture includes saggars. The ceramic walls are relatively thin, with light green or pale yellow glaze applied to the body. The glaze has a shiny finish, and only string-pattern decorations have been observed. This kiln site provides physical evidence for the study of ceramic technology and craftsmanship development during the Tang and Five Dynasties periods.

Protected Area: Northeast boundary at 30°34′57.18″N, 114°47′29.98″E; Northwest boundary at 30°34′57.19″N, 114°47′28.22″E; Southeast boundary at 30°34′54.55″N, 114°47′29.97″E; Southwest boundary at 30°34′54.55″N, 114°47′28.23″E.

Construction Control Zone: Extending 20 meters outward from the protected area boundaries.
