Located in Maojian District, Shiyan City, it faces the Taoist holy site of Wudang Mountain to the east and echoes the legendary homeland of the "wild man," Shennongjia, to the south. It boasts a majestic presence with overlapping mountain ranges, where pine trees, rocks, mist, and rosy clouds create a spectacular view. Fulong Mountain, with its main peak standing at an elevation of 1,730 meters — 118 meters higher than the Tianzhu Peak of Wudang Mountain — has earned the colloquial name "Shiwudang" (Rival to Wudang). This mountain belongs to the Daba Mountain range and is a provincial-level nature scenic reserve, combining grandeur, danger, wilderness, and beauty in one. It is a uniquely gifted destination for sightseeing, vacationing, and convalescence. "Grandeur": The main peak of Shiwudang features exposed bedrock, standing solid and unyielding like walls of bronze, reaching toward the sky. Adjacent peaks such as Bodhisattva Peak and Qingyan Peak arch protectively, resembling stalwart warriors. The Candle Peak to the east pierces the heavens like a spear or sword. "Danger": The rocks on the western side of the main peak have a steepness of 85 to 90 degrees, while over ten peaks including Menban Rock, Bodhisattva Peak, and Candle Peak have vertical drops ranging from 100 to 700 meters. "Wilderness": The area houses over 144,000 acres of primeval forest, with a coverage rate exceeding 90%. The average temperature ranges between 20°C and 12.5°C. It is covered with "living fossil" trees such as iron fir, as well as rare species like dove trees, ginkgoes, and white-bark pines. Rare wildlife including bears, river deer, antelopes, giant salamanders, and monkeys also inhabit the region. The area is documented in *Compendium of Materia Medica* as home to 500 varieties of medicinal herbs, earning it the reputation of a grand botanical and zoological garden. "Beauty": Not only are the forests, streams, and peaks beautiful, but so are the clouds, mists, and rains, creating a scene akin to a celestial mountain palace. Shiwudang is an undeveloped virgin land in northwestern Hubei, embodying the elegance of Mount Lu, the peril of Mount Hua, and the grandeur of Mount Huang — a paradise for those seeking a return to nature's purity.

Ticket Information

① Shiwudang Nature Reserve opening hours: 7:30–18:00; ticket sales: 7:30–16:00

② Children’s tickets: Half-price for children between 1.1 m and 1.4 m tall; free for children under 1.2 m

③ Free admission for seniors over 70, people with disabilities, and active-duty military personnel upon presentation of valid ID

④ Half-price tickets available for seniors aged 60–70 and primary/secondary school students with valid ID

Take bus routes 2, 9, or 10 to Majiahe Station, then transfer to a minivan heading to Shiwudang Scenic Area. The total distance is 30 km, with fares ranging from 10–15 yuan. For groups, private car hire is also available.

Take bus route 51 at the Shifang Intersection to the Shiwudang Scenic Area entrance, then walk into the park.
