The Former Site of the Sixth District Soviet Government of Fang County is located in Kuangying Village, Hongta Town, Fang County, Shiyan City, Hubei Province. From June to December 1931, it served as the location of the Sixth District Soviet Government of Fang County. The original site was the ancestral home of the wealthy landlords Peng Jiancai and Peng Jianji, built in the early years of the Republic of China. It faces south and is built with brick and wood, covering an area of 3,660 square meters, with a building area of 486 square meters. On June 18, 1931, the Red Third Army entered Fang County and immediately mobilized the masses to carry out land revolution and establish Soviet governments at the county, district, and township levels. On June 23, the Sixth District Soviet Government of Fang County was established in Kuangying Village and remained there. It included departments such as the Political Department, Office, Secretariat, Mailroom, Printing Office, Armory, Medical Room, and Guard Room. It governed five township Soviet governments: Yingpan, Lianhua, Kuangying, Sunjiawan, and Moshi沟. From August 1931, He Long and Liu Zhixun commanded the Lianshanpo battle to block enemy forces under Zhang Lianshan and were stationed here for half a month while directing operations.

The buildings of the site are typical courtyard-style residences with a central axis layout, featuring 15 rooms of various sizes, surrounded by walls. A large number of Red Army slogans, weapons such as knives and spears, silver dollars, paper currency, and lanterns used by the Red Army are preserved on-site.

The Sixth District Soviet Government of Fang County is the only remaining district-level Soviet government site established by the Red Third Army under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party during the Agrarian Revolutionary War in the revolutionary base area of northwestern Hubei. It was part of the 14 district-level Soviet governments under the Fang County Soviet Government and holds significant historical value.
