The Sun Book Terrace Ruins are a protected cultural heritage site of Hubei Province.

The Sun Book Terrace Ruins

Located in Wujia Yuanzi Bay, Shangyan Village, Xundian Town, Anlu City, these are Shang and Zhou dynasty ruins covering an area of approximately 50,000 square meters, with a cultural layer thickness of 3–3.5 meters. Three trial excavations have been carried out, revealing that the cultural layer can be divided into three levels. The upper level dates to the middle Western Zhou period, the middle level to the early Western Zhou period, and the lower level to the late Shang dynasty. The unearthed pottery is mainly made of clay, with a small amount of sandy clay mixed in. The pottery colors consist mainly of red ware in the upper level and gray ware in the lower level. Decorative patterns include string patterns, applied ridge patterns, incised lines, rope patterns, and tile patterns. Artifact types include tripods, basins, bean pots, bowls, and jars.
