Site of the Maoba Meeting

Located in Lijiawan, Maoba Village, Taiping Township, Hefeng County. In early January 1933, the Central Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party’s Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Region held an expanded meeting here to review the lessons from the failure of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Soviet Area and discuss the future course of action for the troops. Due to the insistence of Xia Xi, Secretary of the Central Bureau, on a “Left” leaning policy, the erroneous line was not corrected. The site consists of 10 rooms, covering an area of 228 square meters, with a gable-and-hip roof and wooden structure. The Maoba Meeting of the Central Bureau of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Region was a significant event in the development history of the Hunan-Hubei-Jiangxi Soviet Area. It laid the foundation for the later correction of the “Left” leaning line and holds important historical and educational value. (Fifth Batch)
