Located east of the Pagoda of Master Tongguang outside the eastern wall of Shaolin Temple in Dengfeng, this pagoda was built in the fourth year of the Tongguang era of the Later Tang Dynasty during the Five Dynasties period (961 AD). It is one of only two Five Dynasties pagodas in Henan Province and the only surviving Five Dynasties pagoda in the Songshan Mountain area. The pagoda is a square, single-story pavilion-style brick structure, approximately 6.6 meters high. The inscription tablet is 0.5–0.7 meters long and 0.7 meters wide, written in regular script. The spire is a hexagonal pyramidal roof, topped with carved stone inverted lotus petals, a finial, and a precious bead.
