Tomb of Li Sheng

The Tomb of Li Sheng is located at the southwestern corner of Gaoyang Village, 11 kilometers southwest of the county town, on the southern bank of the Tiandi River. The mound is 15 meters high, stretching 120 meters from east to west and 250 meters from north to south. It houses the tombs of Li Yiji, the Han Dynasty’s Lord of Guangye, and Li Shang, the Marquis of Quzhou and Grand General. The two tombs stand side by side from east to west, with the Temple of Li (Li Ci) situated behind them. The temple was built in the sixth year of the Yanxi era during the Eastern Han Dynasty (163) and was destroyed in the 28th year of the Republic of China (1939). Artifacts unearthed at the site include small brick-chambered tombs, rope-patterned cylindrical tiles, and Wu Zhu coins. It was designated as a county-level cultural relics protection unit in 1984.
