Tiansha Leisure Area lies to the south of the majestic Qipan Mountain and to the north of the vast Guanting Reservoir. Amidst orchards, grasslands, and deserts, over 1,300 acres of golden sand dunes abruptly emerge, forming a unique landscape alongside mountains, deserts, and lakes. It’s easy to be moved by the poetic imagery of “lone smoke in the desert sky, the setting sun over the long river.” Many films and TV dramas such as "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" and "My Fair Princess" were filmed here. It is also said that a section of the Great Wall built during the Yan State once stood on the southern edge of the desert. Today, only solitary beacon towers remain, standing through wind and rain.
