Yaowang Pavilion in Medicine City

Yaowang Pavilion in Medicine City was put into use in 1993, covering an area of 100 acres with a total of 297 sets of antique-style buildings constructed, and a total floor area of 30,000 square meters. Upon completion, it became the largest traditional Chinese medicine trading market and information exchange center in western Henan, managed by the Medicine City Management Committee of Lushi County. On December 30, 2004, the sixth executive meeting of the county government decided to merge the Lushi County Medicine City Management Committee into the Lushi County Market Development Service Center. Currently, the Medicine City houses individual merchants engaged in traditional Chinese medicine procurement, walnut purchasing, guesthouses, antique processing and sales, as well as aluminum alloy and glass processing and sales, while the rest are residential areas. With the expansion of the urban area, the geographical location of the Medicine City has shifted from the city suburbs to the central area of the eastern district.
