Guanyun Mountain Scenic Area

The Guanyun Mountain (also known as Guanyin Mountain) Scenic Area is located at the border between Lushi County and Lingbao City in Henan Province, covering a total area of 10.6 square kilometers. The area features dense vegetation, layered peaks, ancient and gnarled trees, a profusion of rare flowers and plants, as well as vast grasslands that ripple like green waves. With its long-standing cultural heritage, it is another fairyland-like destination in Lushi County. The main peak, Tiantan Peak, stands at an elevation of 1,886 meters with a forest coverage rate of 98%. It is home to over 2,000 species of rare plants and valuable medicinal herbs, and various wildlife such as antelopes, wild deer, masked palm civets, and golden pheasants can be frequently spotted. The climate within the scenic area is pleasant — warm in spring, cool in summer, refreshing in autumn, and mild in winter. It boasts abundant plant resources, including over 120 species of wild edible plants and more than 400 species of medicinal resources, many of which have both medicinal and economic value. Additionally, visitors can explore rare primeval forests, alpine grasslands, waterfalls, and hunting grounds. Centered around the two main peaks — Guanyun Mountain and Jade Emperor Pavilion — the area unfolds in all directions. Other sites such as the preserved Lotus Pond, Shifangyuan, Mountain God Temple, and Star-Observing Platform are shrouded in mystery, making it a great place to experience mountain-based religious culture.
