Chenfan Park is located in the northwest of the county town, adjacent to Chenfan Road to the east and Fuyu Avenue to the south. Covering an area of 128 mu, the park has a greenery rate of 82%. It was planned, designed, and constructed by the County Construction Bureau, with construction starting in November 2006 and now largely completed. The park’s theme is dedicated to promoting Chenfan culture. Chen Fan was a native of Pingyu during the Eastern Han Dynasty and served as Prefect, Grand Commandant, and Grand Tutor—holding one of the “Three Excellencies” positions. He was known for his integrity, noble character, uprightness, and remarkable achievements, and was honored as “Chen Zhongju who feared no power.” In order to promote Chenfan culture and transform cultural resources into economic advantages, the county Party committee and government decided to build Chenfan Park at the site of Chen Fan’s tomb. The park’s main entrance features a majestic white marble gate tower, with a pair of stone lions standing guard in front. At the center of the park stands a wind-swept statue of Chen Fan, alongside exquisitely carved jade relief walls. Chen Fan’s tomb rests peacefully amidst pine and cypress trees, with the Grand Tutor Stele standing solemnly nearby. The park is surrounded by groves of plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum, with winding paths and uniquely shaped rocks adding charm. Scattered throughout the park are various rugged stones and artistic pieces symbolizing peace (snails), environmental protection (owls), warm homes (chickens), joyful companions (pandas), maternal bonds (mother and baby elephants), and happy childhoods (shepherds), all of which enhance the park’s appeal. The Lotus Lake shimmers with ripples, and the small bridges over flowing water create a cozy, idyllic atmosphere. Chenfan Park is another ideal destination in Pingyu County for leisure and recreation.
