Xizhou Forest Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Xizhou Forest Park, also known as Xixian Forest Park, is located in Xizheng Community on Xizheng Road. It is a distinctive park featuring forests as its main landscape. Situated in Xixian County, known as the “First County of China,” the park boasts a superior forest ecological environment. With a total regional development investment of 400 million yuan, it covers an area of 1,550 acres. To enhance the cultural richness of the park, two attractions have been created within the park: the Memorial Hall of Lady Xi and the Ma Yuan Square, both designed with the architectural charm of the Han and Tang dynasties. It serves as an important component of the county’s ecological development and is a public welfare project that benefits both the residents and the region.

Xizhou Forest Park features a wide variety of tree species, towering woodlands, beautiful scenery, and a pleasant climate. The project began planning in 2013, officially commenced construction in November 2014, and was listed as a key project of Xinyang City for two consecutive years in 2014 and 2015. The park consists of landscape construction, public facilities, and commercial-residential complex development, with a total investment of 400 million yuan. The completed forest park has expanded from its original 1,024 acres to 1,550 acres. It is an important part of the county’s ecological development and a public welfare project that benefits both the residents and the region. Located in the transitional zone between subtropical and warm temperate regions, the park embodies the unique characteristics of “southern charm in the north and northern vigor in the south.”

When describing a place with naturally fresh air and an excellent ecological environment, the term “natural oxygen bar” is often used. Nowadays, visiting Xizhou Forest Park truly offers the feeling of enjoying an “oxygen bar”! As one of the key projects in Xixian County’s development, the park has seen substantial progress through the joint efforts of relevant departments. The main structures have been largely completed, and supporting facilities are currently being further improved. To elevate the park’s cultural appeal, two sub-projects have been developed within Xizhou Forest Park: the Memorial Hall of Lady Xi and Ma Yuan Square. The Memorial Hall of Lady Xi consists of three parts: the main hall and east and west wing rooms, covering a total area of 770 square meters. The main hall is 260 square meters, while each wing room is 255 square meters. The memorial hall adopts the architectural style of the Han and Tang dynasties, with the main building serving as an exhibition hall that displays scenes from Lady Xi’s life through clay sculptures and photo exhibits. Ma Yuan Square spans an area of 39,000 square meters, including a main plaza of 25,800 square meters, building space of 390 square meters, and a parking lot of 5,600 square meters.

Currently, the two major landscape projects in Xizhou Forest Park—Ma Yuan Square and the Memorial Hall of Lady Xi—have been completed. Supporting sub-projects such as roads connecting various scenic areas, the East Gate Plaza and management offices, Peach Blossom Garden, the main entrance landscape avenue, and greening enhancement works were finished by the end of 2016, leading to the official opening of the park to visitors. This marks the beginning of a new chapter for Xixian County in urban ecology, low-carbon living, and cultural enrichment.
