Yantai Yuhuangding Park is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a cultural heritage site protected by Shandong Province.

Yuhuangding Park, also known as Little Penglai, is one of the main scenic spots in downtown Yantai. Located slightly south of the city center, it sits at an elevation of 72 meters, covering an area of 89,100 square meters with a built-up area of 4,800 square meters. It is a renowned sightseeing destination noted for its “elegant beauty and spiritual charm.” Since ancient times, it has been said that “literati and travelers from all over have regarded a visit here as a must.” Its elegance stands tall without connecting to mountain ridges and extends far without relying on external elevation. Though it covers no more than 100 acres, the park features winding paths through serene groves, lush trees, and lies backed by Nanshan Mountain and facing Beihai. It is like a piece of jade embedded in the beautiful coastal city of Yantai.

The core scenic area of the park is a group of ancient buildings with strong Jiaodong architectural style, initially built in the late Yuan Dynasty and later expanded and renovated on a large scale during the Ming and Qing Dynasties to reach its current scale. The area centers around the Jade Emperor Hall along the central axis, including the former Taoist residential area and Jade Emperor Pavilion in the west, the Lüzu Hall in the east, the Little Penglai Stone Archway, as well as surrounding pavilions, corridors, terraces, and steles. The entire complex is exquisitely designed, tightly structured, pursuing symmetry yet rich in variety, following nature while demonstrating ingenious craftsmanship. It has been officially listed as a municipal-level cultural heritage protection site.

Yuhuangding Park boasts extraordinary scenery. From its heights, visitors can overlook the sea, feeling as if they’ve entered a fairyland like Penglai, which is why people also call it “Little Penglai.” The magnificent natural landscape and the beautiful scenery of Zhifu District can all be fully appreciated here.

Visitor Service Center: The Yuhuangding Park Visitor Service Center is located in the office area near the South Gate of the park and offers services such as guided tours.

Self-Driving Directions:

From Jiqing Expressway → Weilai Expressway → Tongsan Expressway → Yantai → Exit at Zhifu District → Head east to Nan Dajie → Turn right at the intersection to arrive
