Nanshan Park is located in the city center of Yantai, bordered by Huanshan Road to the north, Shengli South Road to the east, Tongshi Road to the west, and spanning Hongqi Middle Road. It lies against the scenic Tading Mountain, with an average elevation of 97 meters, covering a total area of 840,000 square meters. This includes 16,000 square meters of built-up area, 47,000 square meters of water bodies, and over 30,000 trees and shrubs of more than 100 species. The park enjoys a prime location with convenient transportation. The site was originally known as Silinxiqu, nestled against mountains, beside water, and facing the sea, featuring exquisite and enchanting scenery with well-preserved natural landscapes and ecological environments. As early as during the Republican era, it earned the reputation of “Yantai’s No. 1 Tourist Park” due to its grand pear blossom festival. In 1975, the Yantai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government decided to develop the area into a comprehensive urban park — Nanshan Park. After more than 30 years of development, Nanshan Park has now become a multi-functional open urban oasis, integrating a zoo, amusement park, specialty botanical garden, and traditional architecture leisure area. It combines traditional cultural elements with modern garden features, offering leisure, fitness, entertainment, sightseeing, tourism, wildlife conservation, and science education.

Highlights: Zoo: Nanshan Park Zoo features multiple high-standard, eco-friendly viewing areas, including a bird garden, big cat zone, small carnivore zone, primate zone, herbivore zone, as well as an animal performance theater and a giraffe house. It is home to over 80 species and more than 1,200 rare animals, including more than 20 under national first-class protection and over 60 under national second-class or provincial protection. Amusement Park: Covering an area of over 20,000 square meters, the amusement park offers a wide variety of attractions such as bumper cars, go-karts, rock climbing, luxury carousel, spinning chairs, log flume rides, roller coasters, and more. With over 20 types of medium to large-scale entertainment facilities, it caters to visitors of different age groups and entertainment preferences. Botanical Garden: The specialty botanical area boasts abundant and diverse plant resources, making it a great spot for flower and foliage viewing and enjoying nature. The garden includes various specialized gardens such as a bonsai garden, cherry blossom garden, plum blossom garden, and bamboo garden. The West Hill Cherry Blossom Garden has added over 1,400 cherry trees, making it currently the largest, most diverse, and most scenic cherry blossom viewing area in downtown Yantai.
