Hushan, located in the western part of Baoding City and the northernmost part of Quyang County, gets its name from a massive rock on its summit that resembles a fierce tiger ready to pounce. It is connected to the famous ancient Northern Yue Hengshan Mountain, with its main peak "Sanjianliang" standing over 1,100 meters above sea level. Bordering Tang County and Fuping County, it creates a mountain tourism landscape where “one foot stands in three counties,” covering an area of more than 20 square kilometers. Hushan has long been tucked away in the Taihang Mountains, with rolling peaks and few visitors over the years, thus maintaining its untouched natural beauty. The mountain features a moist climate, with unusually fresh and clean air. Fine mist rises gently, giving it a dreamy, rain-wrapped appearance, like a delicate gauze veil. It is hailed by visitors as nature’s “natural oxygen bar.” Wild animals such as yellow goats, squirrels, and various birds can often be seen roaming the mountains. Hushan offers many attractions: "Birdsong Valley," "Prayer for Water Temple," "Golden Water Spring," "Miners' Living Area," "Triple Waterfall," "Fairy Waterfall," "Wishing Tree," "Sky Meadows," "Sanjianliang," and "Gold Panning Cave."

Each attraction has its own unique features, reflecting the diverse landscapes and cultures of Hushan. The gurgling "Golden Water Spring" plays a natural melody for the mountain. The spring bubbles year-round, with clear, sweet water swirling up and down, remaining warm in winter and cool in summer throughout the seasons. The "Fairy Waterfall" boasts a dramatic drop of over 40 meters, creating a spectacular sight that adds a spiritual charm to Hushan. The "Wishing Tree" is an ancient tree over 800 years old, carrying immense history and mystery. Visitors can make sincere wishes under this mystical tree, which is said to grant every visitor’s desire. The "Gold Panning Cave" consists of ancient mining tunnels, with several caves extending hundreds of meters deep. These caves have given rise to a unique local gold-panning culture. Inside, cool breezes blow, with some caves featuring natural springs or extending deep into the earth. Various sculptures and antique gold-mining tools inside the caves offer insights into the region’s gold-panning heritage and history, providing visitors with enriching experiences. Gold-panning culture, as the thematic focus of Hushan Scenic Area, is also one of its defining features.

Hushan is the only scenic area in China that showcases gold-panning culture, making it truly unique. Hushan is also known as the jujube capital of northern China. The mountain features 10 large valleys and over 50 smaller ones, densely covered with jujube orchards. The big red dates not only represent generations of harvest hopes for local residents but also provide endless fun for visitors who wish to pick them. Hushan is rich in water resources. During the wet season, rivers crisscross the land, and even in dry seasons, streams continue to flow noisily. With high mountains and long waters, the clear springs babble cheerfully. In its development and construction, Hushan Scenic Area has consistently focused on creating attractions that meet visitors’ needs while highlighting its unique characteristics.

At Hushan Scenic Area, visitors can hike, play in the water, fish, and even experience gold-panning culture. Though it has been developed for just over four years, the infrastructure of Hushan Scenic Area has received high praise from visitors. In terms of both scale and completeness, the area’s facilities are rare across the province. Hushan mainly targets tourists from nearby cities such as Shijiazhuang, Baoding, Beijing, and Tianjin. Over the years, Hushan has hosted numerous large-scale events, such as the “Quyang Hushan · 2007 Hebei Writers Association Third Dragon Boat Festival Poetry Event,” the “First Hushan Outdoor Tourism Culture Festival,” and the “Jujube Picking Festival,” attracting thousands of visitors. These events have diversified Hushan’s visitor base and enriched its tourism culture. Hushan allows visitors to actively engage in the travel experience, connect with nature, and explore the treasures of gold-panning land.
