Xiushuiyu Scenic Area is located in Nanshangou Village, Daomaguan Township, and is an important part of Hebei’s Ancient Northern Yue National Forest Park. Covering a total area of 10 square kilometers with a planned area of 8,250 mu, the scenic area consists of over ten valleys that form a vast pine forest. Lush, verdant, and shaded, the greenery is boundless. The pine forest is home to a variety of traditional Chinese medicinal herbs. Especially in summer, the dense woods are covered with fragrant pine mushrooms. Sheltered under the cool shade of the pines, picking mushrooms and digging for wild vegetables is a truly unique experience. Thanks to the thick woodland, the area is rich in water resources, with springs trickling and streams flowing through every valley. A sip of the mountain spring water is refreshingly cool and invigorating.

Nestled among rolling mountains, the small village is serene and idyllic, with curling wisps of cooking smoke adding to its rustic charm. The lesser-known deep mountain gullies, hidden by green pines and graced by cascading waterfalls, have been hailed by tourism experts as the best ecological valley and a natural oxygen bar. The most famous attraction in the scenic area, the Flying Dragon Waterfall, has a drop of 20 meters. The white cascade plunges from a high cliff into the emerald pool below—white waterfall, green water, and the murmuring flow all come together with the uniquely shaped pebbles around to form a natural ink-wash painting.

In Dalishu Gully, there is a small reservoir holding over 10,000 cubic meters of water. Its mirror-like surface, stretching several hundred meters, glimmers like a jewel embedded in the lush valley, bringing endless vitality to the gully.

The various sized waterfalls in the gully are like brilliant pearls inlaid within the green mountains, pine forests, and valleys. Attractions such as General Rock, Pig’s Basin, and Lion Ridge showcase the wonders of nature. Taking a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of life, one can’t help but wish to become an immortal in such beautiful waters. Only when you come here can you truly appreciate the beauty of pristine nature.

Xiushuiyu Scenic Area offers multiple family guesthouses where you can enjoy farmhouse meals and sleep on traditional earthen kang beds. Here, you can pick vegetables with your own hands, grind grain with a millstone to cook, and truly experience the leisurely joys of mountain life.
