Weihai Film and Television City is one of the four major film and television bases established nationwide by China Central Television (CCTV). It is located on the beautiful western coast of Weihai City, at the entrance of the Weihai-Yantai Expressway, and is directly accessible via Tourist Bus Line 15. Nestled against the mountains and embracing the sea, the area boasts picturesque scenery. The exceptional natural conditions and uniquely designed European-style architecture make the film city shine brilliantly, showcasing both an antique elegance and a modern romantic beauty.

Covering an area of 500 acres, the film city primarily serves film and television production, while also offering cultural entertainment, sightseeing, and leisure vacation services. The first phase to open—the Big Windmill Scenic Area—spans 100 acres and consists of five uniquely themed buildings: the Main Gate Castle, Circular Plaza, Country Club, Big Windmill, and Knights' Paradise. It also includes ten attractions and facilities: the Seawall Stone Sculpture Group, Pastoral Golf, Field Training Camp, Water Play Park, Longevity Happy Island, Tangram TV Station, Tangram Driving School, Dinosaur Park, Tree Fairy Tavern, and International Walls, as well as a well-equipped seawater bathing beach. The scenic area also features a European classical-style revolving seaside bar.

In recent years, Weihai Film and Television City has hosted a series of large-scale cultural, entertainment, and social welfare events, in gratitude for societal support and affection. It has successfully organized and held three editions of the “National Children’s Calligraphy and Painting Television Competition,” the “First China Radio, Film and Television International Summer Camp,” the “CCTV Galaxy Children’s Television Art Troupe Performance Tour in Weihai,” and the “Xin-Shanzhi Petrochemical General Factory Children’s Art Exhibition.” To enhance its external cultural and tourism image, the inflatable animation city was relocated twice—first to Jinhua and then to Chongqing—for exhibitions, further promoting cultural and artistic exchanges with inland northwestern regions and southern provinces. These efforts have made positive contributions to the development and prosperity of national cultural tourism.

The film city’s enchanting natural scenery and cultural architectural landscapes have been featured on screen numerous times, attracting countless tourists. National leaders have visited Weihai Film and Television City on multiple occasions to inspect its operations, and experts from the World Tourism Experts Group have also traveled here specifically for comprehensive evaluations. The film city integrates multiple functions including outdoor film shooting, cultural entertainment, tourism, leisure vacations, and catering services. Its overall planning features a distinct theme, rational layout, and unique style that is novel, thrilling, extraordinary, and ingenious.
