Chishan Chan Temple

Chishan Chan Temple is located in the Shidao Chishan National AAAA-level Scenic Area, surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea on one, offering a panoramic view of the sea to the east.

Rongcheng Chishan is situated northwest of Shidao Port, spanning an area of 12.8 square kilometers. Where mountains meet the sea, the scenery is breathtaking. The sea embraces all streams, and the cliffs rise thousands of feet high — the sea shapes the mountain’s form, while the mountain draws majesty from the sea. Known as the “Sacred Mountain of the East,” “Buddhist Sacred Site,” “Island Folk Culture,” and “Forest Park,” it is a national AAAA-level scenic area.

Located within the Chishan Scenic Area, it is said to correspond with a Zen temple in Japan. The atmosphere here is rich in Buddhist culture and very tranquil. One of the highlights is the Fahua Pagoda, which showcases the customs and culture of the Tang Dynasty. From Chishan Chan Temple, visitors can climb to a height for a bird’s-eye view of Chishan.
