The Xiaoxihai Thatched Cottages are a Shandong Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Unit.

The Xiaoxihai Thatched Cottages are located in Gangxi Town, Rongcheng City, dating from the Qing Dynasty to the People's Republic of China.

On June 23, 2015, the Xiaoxihai Thatched Cottages were designated as part of the fifth batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Heritage Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Gangxi Town: Located at the easternmost tip of the Shandong Peninsula, Gangxi Town is bordered by mountains and sea, with a coastline stretching 24 Chinese miles. It covers a total area of 47.86 square kilometers and governs 21 administrative villages, with a total population of 17,000.

Distinct seasons and a pleasant climate are notable features of Gangxi Town. The average temperature here is around 12°C, the frost-free period is 143.2 days, and the annual average precipitation is 800 millimeters.

Gangxi Town boasts vast land and abundant resources.
