Rongcheng Museum

Rongcheng Museum was built in May 2000 and officially opened to the public in December 2001. It is a large comprehensive museum primarily dedicated to showcasing Rongcheng’s maritime culture, fishing customs, humanistic history, and developmental achievements. The museum has a total construction area of 28,000 square meters, with an exhibition space of 12,000 square meters, and currently employs 31 staff members.

Rongcheng Museum is a National Third-Class Museum and a National AAA-level Tourist Attraction. It has been successively recognized as a National Defense Science and Technology Industry Culture Education Base, a Shandong Provincial Patriotic Education Base, a Shandong Provincial National Defense Education Base, a Shandong Provincial Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site, a Shandong Provincial Service Brand, a Shandong Provincial Party History Education Base, a Shandong Provincial Social Science Education Base, and a Shandong Provincial Science Popularization Education Base. The museum hosts over twenty cultural exhibitions annually, including those on fine arts, calligraphy, and photography, and receives more than 300,000 visitors per year. It has become an important window for showcasing the cultural development of Rongcheng.

Permanent Exhibitions: Rongcheng Museum has a total of 14 exhibition halls, including 5 permanent displays: the Guo Yonghuai Memorial Exhibition Hall, Fishermen’s Pride – Rongcheng People and the Sea, Century Rongcheng, Thousand-Mile Coastal Splendor – Exhibition on Rongcheng’s Socioeconomic Development Achievements, and the Anti-Corruption Integrity Education Base. There are also 7 specialized exhibitions: the Folk Museum, Coin Museum, Zhou Shaohua Art Museum, Tang Hongzhen Chinese Painting Gallery, Peng Zhaojun Art Museum, Zhang Zhongyu Calligraphy Art Gallery, and Du Chunhui Oil Painting Gallery.

Treasures in the Collection: Rongcheng Museum houses a total of 730 pieces of fine cultural relics. Among them, there are 8 first-class relics, 50 second-class relics, and 672 third-class relics.
