Juxian Dinglin Temple

Juxian Dinglin Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

The thousand-year-old Dinglin Temple was first built during the Eastern Jin Dynasty and flourished in the Northern and Southern Dynasties period, boasting a history of over 1,500 years. The temple complex stretches 95 meters from north to south and 52 meters from east to west, covering a total area of 4,900 square meters. The entire structure consists of three courtyards—front, middle, and rear—centered around the mountain gate, Mahavira Hall, Scripture-Editing Tower, and Three Teachings Hall. The Mahavira Hall serves as the main structure, extending forwards, backwards, left, and right. The main buildings feature upturned eaves, dragon heads, carved beams, and painted rafters, embodying an elegant yet rustic charm that reflects the classic architectural style of ancient northern China.

The Mahavira Hall stands 9.2 meters tall and has a depth of three bays. The statues inside include Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, flanked by Manjushri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, with the Four Heavenly Kings positioned behind. To the east is the Medicine Buddha, and to the west is Amitabha Buddha.

The Scripture-Editing Tower is located in the middle courtyard of Dinglin Temple. Originally named Pilu Pavilion, it is one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Fulaishan. The three characters “校经楼” (Scripture-Editing Tower) were personally inscribed by Mr. Guo Moruo in 1962. This tower was where Liu Xie edited scriptures and has now been converted into a memorial exhibition hall dedicated to his life. The hall houses a statue of Liu Xie and displays various editions of The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons along with historical research literature.

In the courtyard of the Three Teachings Hall stands a ginkgo tree, said to have been planted during the Tang Dynasty, with an estimated age of over 1,300 years. The Three Teachings Hall is the only one of its kind in Shandong Province, enshrining Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. Followers of different religious beliefs can worship together under one roof—a truly harmonious approach to resolving conflicts and reconciling differences, reflecting the spirit of coexistence today.

Additionally, there are other sites such as GenGu YiRen (The One Since Ancient Times), Mount Tai Travel Palace, SanYe Hall, Ten Kings Hall, and the Official Reception Hall.
