Tai Gong Lake is a national water conservancy scenic area.

Tai Gong Lake is located at the foot of the picturesque Niu Mountain. To the south are the Guan Zhong Memorial Hall and the Maliantai Natural Scenic Tourist Area, to the west it connects with the urban area, to the east lies the “Eastern Pyramid” — the Mausoleums of the Kings of Qi, and to the north is the China Ancient Chariot Museum.

Tai Gong Lake originated from the comprehensive management project of the Linzi section of the Zi River. The project commenced on October 1, 2001, was completed on September 20, 2002, and drew water from the Taihe Reservoir to fill the lake. A grand completion ceremony was held on September 28. Following a public naming competition, the district committee and government named the artificial lake formed through the Zi River management project “Tai Gong Lake.”

Tai Gong Lake stretches 2,500 meters in length along its upper and lower reaches, with a width of 300–500 meters. It covers a water surface area of 1,500 mu, has a water storage capacity of 1.5 million cubic meters, and the total investment in the project was 58 million yuan. The lake is functionally divided into three sections: a filtration pool, a lotus pond, and the main lake area. After being filled, purified water from the Linzi Wastewater Treatment Plant serves as its primary supplementary water source, improving water resource recycling and achieving the resource utilization of wastewater.
