Qiyuan Garden

Linzi Qiyuan Garden is located in the southwest of Linzi urban area, bordered by Qiyuan Road to the east, Yangpo Road to the west, Xin San Road to the south, and Niushan Road to the north, covering an area of 17.2 hectares. The garden was first built in 1982 and officially opened to the public in December 1984. Its most distinctive feature is the emphasis on the ancient history and splendid culture of the former Qi State capital.

Qiyuan Garden currently has two main entrances: one on the east and one on the north. The eastern entrance faces Qiyuan Road and features a colonnade-style structure with a roof covered in small blue tiles, featuring a rolled shed and hip-and-gable roof design. The columns are red, adorned with imperial-style painted decorations. The square in front of the gate is paved with precast concrete blocks in the size of ancient “two-foot square bricks,” giving it a simple and elegant appearance. A plaque inscribed with the name “Qiyuan” hangs above the eastern gate, handwritten by Professor Chen Congzhou from Tongji University. The northern entrance faces Niushan Road and is a porch-style building with a concrete sloped roof covered in small blue tiles.

The main highlight of Qiyuan Garden is the film set used for the TV series "Confucius," which was constructed in 1989. It is a group of replica buildings from the Spring and Autumn Period, covering an area of 53,000 square meters with a construction area of 4,564 square meters. It is mainly divided into five sections: city gates and walls, moats, palace courtyards, residences of nobles, and civilian houses and streets, comprising a total of 108 individual structures that recreate the architectural characteristics of the Spring and Autumn Period. Following the filming of "Confucius," other TV dramas such as "Man Jiang Hong," "Qi Tian Le," "Qi Jiguang," "The Military Strategist Sun Bin," "Sun Zi," and "The Miracle Doctor Hua Tuo" have also been filmed on location here.
