Ruins of Yao Wangzhuang

The ruins of Yao Wangzhuang are a Shandong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The ruins of Yao Wangzhuang are located to the north of Yao Wangzhuang in Jixia Subdistrict Office, on the west bank of the Zi River. The site stretches approximately 100 meters from east to west and about 80 meters from north to south. It was discovered and excavated in October 1965 by teachers and students of the Archaeology Department at Peking University during their fieldwork in Linzi. The cultural layer is about 1.5 meters thick, and unearthed artifacts include sandy red pottery steamers as well as fragments of pottery li tripods, jars, basins, ding tripods, gui vessels, and yan steamers. The vessel walls are relatively thick, and the bodies are mostly decorated with coarse rope patterns, with additional stacked patterns around the waist.

In 2013, the ruins of Yao Wangzhuang were designated as part of the fourth batch of Shandong Provincial-level Cultural Relics Protection Units by the People's Government of Shandong Province.

Jixia Subdistrict: Located in the northern part of Linzi urban area, Jixia Subdistrict covers a total area of 40 square kilometers and has 15.984 million square meters of arable land. It governs 33 administrative villages and one neighborhood committee, with a total population of 44,804. Within the year, there were 443 births, resulting in a birth rate of 8.89‰ and a natural population growth rate of 4.95‰. The family planning rate reached 100%.
